Atmoph View Awards 2025

Hello, this is Shinobu, editor in charge of Atmophโ€™s landscape content.

As we blink, 2025 has already reached its final month. At Atmoph Window, weโ€™ve released many new Views again this yearโ€”have you been enjoying them?

Now, itโ€™s time for our annual tradition: the Atmoph View Awards. Today, weโ€™re announcing the Top 10 Views of 2025, ranked by the number of Likes they received!

A few notes on how we counted the Likes:

  • The results are based on data as of December 1, 2025.
  • Views released earlier in the year naturally have an advantageโ€”thank you for your understanding.

So, which landscapes captured the hearts of our users this year? Maybe one of your favorites made the list. Letโ€™s find out!

10th Evening in Arco

The 10th place goes to the town of Arco, located in the lake district of northern Italy. Arco sits at the southern end of the Sarca Valley, known for its mild climate that attracts visitors year-round. The surrounding cliffs are famous among climbers, and international competitions are held here annually.

Perched on a cliff overlooking the town is Arco Castle, believed to have been built around the year 1000. You can actually see what it looked like in the Middle Ages in a watercolor by Dรผrer displayed at the Louvre. The illuminated castle adds a beautiful touch to the fading light over Arco.

9th Toblino Castle 1

In 9th place is another landscape from the Sarca Valley: Toblino Castle. Sitting on a small peninsula of Lake Toblino, the castleโ€™s origins are said to date back to ancient Roman times. From the 12th century onward, it was owned by vassals of the Prince-Bishopric of Trento, and the site is known for numerous legends of tragic romance.

Perhaps due to the low-lying clouds in the scene, the View carries a quiet, melancholic mood befitting those stories. Despite its dramatic past, today Toblino Castle houses a restaurant, offering local winesโ€”such as Vino Santoโ€”along with wonderful food.

8th Lake Michigan and Chicago 1

From Chicago, Illinois, the landscape of Lake Michigan with its skyline takes 8th place. Shot from the popular Museum Campusโ€”home to several well-known museumsโ€”the View shows Chicagoโ€™s skyscrapers framed by vivid blue sky and water.

Chicago is known as the birthplace of the skyscraper, with high-rise construction beginning in the late 19th century. The dark tower slightly left of center is one such landmark: the Willis Tower, completed in 1973. Including its antennas, it reaches 527 metersโ€”once the tallest in the world, and still the second tallest in the U.S.

7th Rain Vortex 3

In 7th place is the unique artificial waterfall known as the Rain Vortex. This waterfall is located at Jewel Changi Airport, a commercial complex opened in 2019 in Singapore. With attractions, shops, and restaurants, Jewelโ€™s centerpiece is this dramatic waterfall.

Surrounded by lush tropical greenery, the 40-meter stream plunges into the lower levels as if being drawn into the earth. Even travelers short on time can enjoy it from the Skytrain connecting Terminals 2 and 3, offering a great view right from the window.

6th Morning at Ibirapuera Park

6th place goes to Ibirapuera Park in Sรฃo Paulo, Brazilโ€™s largest city. Opened in 1954 to commemorate the cityโ€™s 400th anniversary, the park is a massive urban oasis. Several structures designed by world-renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer stand here, making it a notable destination for architecture lovers.

This View captures one of the parkโ€™s two large artificial lakes. With shady trees and benches, the area is perfect for relaxing, walking, or jogging. Though the park is usually lively with locals, the early morning light lends it a calm, peaceful atmosphere.

5th Tjรถrnin Lake at Reykjavรญk 2

At 5th place is Lake Tjรถrnin, located in central Reykjavรญk, the capital of Iceland. Beloved by both residents and waterfowl, the lake freezes in winter and becomes a natural ice skating rink.

Reykjavรญk lies just below the Arctic Circle at 64ยฐ08โ€™N, and in midwinter has only about 4 hours of daylight. This View was shot in Novemberโ€”not quite winter yetโ€”but the soft sunlight might look like sunset despite it being only 2 p.m. Itโ€™s a chance to experience northern light patterns that you canโ€™t see in Japan.

4th Twilight in Akureyri

4th place features the enchanting twilight of Akureyri, Icelandโ€™s second-largest city. Located deep within the Eyjafjรถrรฐur fjord in northern Iceland, the town of about 20,000 people serves as a base for exploring the regionโ€™s dramatic landscapes.

Filmed from across the fjord, the View shows Akureyri beginning to glow with evening lights. The snow-covered mountain ridges floating in the dusk add to the sceneโ€™s magic. On the slope of the mountains is one of Icelandโ€™s most popular ski resorts, where visitors can ski with sweeping views of the fjord and surrounding peaks.

3rd Coastal Railroad in Del Mar 2

Now we enter the Top 3!

In 3rd place is the landscape of a train running along the U.S. West Coast. This Amtrak line carries the Pacific Surfliner, a 563 km route between San Luis Obispo and San Diego. With double-deck cars and cafรฉ cars, itโ€™s a train designed for relaxed, scenic travel.

Del Mar, where the View was filmed, is a high-end resort town just north of San Diego. Vacation homes line parts of the coast. Watching the vast Pacific Ocean, endless beaches, and a romantic coastal railway from your own seaside homeโ€”who wouldnโ€™t envy that?

2nd Blossoms along Funagawa River 1

2nd place goes to the breathtaking spring landscape of Asahi Town in Toyama Prefecture, at the far east of the prefecture. Cherry blossoms planted along the Funakawa River, fields blanketed with canola flowers, and the snow-covered Northern Alps in the distance create a spectacular contrast. You canโ€™t help but start longing for spring.

Every year, the event Asahi Funakawa โ€œSpring Quartetโ€ is held here. As the name suggests, four elementsโ€”sakura, canola flowers, the Northern Alps, and tulips (not shown in this particular View)โ€”come together to form an extraordinary, picture-perfect scene. During the festival, food stalls line the paths and the area fills with visitors.

1st Makapuu Beach Park 1

And the grand winnerโ€”1st placeโ€”goes to Makapuสปu Beach Park on Oสปahu, Hawaii!

Located near Makapuสปu Point at the easternmost tip of Oสปahu, the beach opens onto a dazzling, crystal-blue ocean. Offshore you can see Manana Island and Kaohikaipu Island. Manana Island is affectionately known as Rabbit Island because of its rabbit-head shape and the rabbits once brought there by farmers.

Hawaii is consistently popular on Atmoph Window, and this year was no exception. Makapuสปu Beach Park shows Hawaiiโ€™s vibrant natural colors at their bestโ€”the kind of scene where you can almost feel the ocean breeze reaching you through the window. Itโ€™s one of my personal favorites as well.
